Product Information
What material are your products made from?
SoundSkins Pro is made up of 3 layers: rubber acoustic foam, foil & rubber butyl. This custom blend of materials allows you to layer any panels in your vehicle to reduce vibrations and road noise, reduce loss of sound and improve heat rejection.
SoundSkins Classic is made up of foil and rubber butyl to provide the best sound damping possible from a thin layer of material.
SoundSkins Rings v3 are made of high-quality rubber closed cell foam, a unique blend of butyl rubber, making it waterproof and long lasting. The rings have a 3M high level adhesive for fast, easy application that sticks to ANY surface.
What makes SoundSkins different from other sound deadening products?
We are the original 3-in-1 product with acoustic, closed cell foam on top of foil and rubber butyl on our premium product, SoundSkins Pro. Other brands sell these two materials separately. With SoundSkins Pro, you will only need one product to get superior results compared to buying and installing 2 separate products.
Our foam speaker rings stand out from the competition because they are the ONLY foam speaker ring kit that comes in strips instead of rings to suit all the components of your speakers in one application without wasting material. Our rings also come provided with 4 wave foam backing sheets that will improve your speaker’s bass response.
Are your products self-adhesive?
Yes, just peel and stick onto a properly cleaned and dried surface, and you’re good to go!
The recommended application temperature range is between 50 to 70 F.
How can I reduce road noise in my car?
For best results when reducing road noise, we recommend installing SoundSkins Pro on your vehicle floors, door inner skins, and trunk.
We also recommend SoundSkins Classic on the door outer skins and roof. This will reduce vibrations and dampen sound significantly for the quietest ride possible.
Last, we recommend placing SoundSkins Wavy Foam inside of the plastic door cards, which will further help with thermal acoustic insulation and reduce rattles.
If you are not able to get full coverage in your vehicle, we recommend taking note of the areas of your car where sound and vibration occur the most, and covering those main areas with SoundSkins.
What is the difference between SoundSkins Pro and SoundSkins Classic?
SoundSkins Pro is made up of 3 layers: acoustic foam, foil & rubber butyl while SoundSkins Classic is made up of only 2 layers: foil and rubber butyl. SoundSkins Pro is a thicker and heavier material than SoundSkins Classic, and provides more advantages in soundproofing because the layer of acoustic foam aids in absorbing noise and acts as a decoupler to isolate sound and vibrations.
What is the difference between SoundSkins Pro, SoundSkins Pro Mega Kit, and SoundSkins Pro Plus?
SoundSkins Pro is our door kit, which covers 11 sq ft. One roll covers 2 doors in most standard sized vehicles.
SoundSkins Pro Mega Kit is a kit consisting of 4 rolls of SoundSkins Pro, covering 44 sq ft. It is enough to cover 4 doors, and the trunk of most standard sized vehicles.
SoundSkins Pro Plus is the largest roll of SoundSkins Pro, both in width, length, and weight. It covers 64.5 sq ft and is enough to cover 4 door panels, trunk, floor, and roof of most standard sized vehicles.
Can I put SoundSkins under my car hood?
Yes, you can put SoundSkins Heat Shield under your hood and engine compartment.
Is your material difficult for beginners to cut and install by themselves?
Our material is very pliable and easy to work with. You do not need to have experience or fancy equipment to cut and work with our material, just your hands and a blade or scissors.
Where are your products made?
Our products are manufactured in China, and our pre-cut template kits are cut here in the USA. Due to the unique blend of materials and the large scale of our production, we outsource production to keep the quality high and the prices down for our customers.
Pre-Cut Template Kits
What car models do you have pre-cut template kits for?
All of our pre-cut kits that we currently sell are listed on this page.
We will be releasing more Pre-Cut Door Damping Kits in the following months. We'd love to know your input on which kit we should release next!
Do you offer custom cut kits for any car?
No we do not. All of our kits are hand-designed and built from the ground up in the US. Creating templates for each kit that we offer takes months of research and development, and is simply not possible to offer for any car in the market.
If we see enough demand for a certain car model, we will plan to release one in the future.
Why do you not cut the speaker hole in your template kits?
We do not cut the speaker hole for you in our pre-cut sound deadening kits because this hole must be a very precise fit, and speaker hole size and placement may vary by car.
Why do you not offer outer door pieces in your WRX template kit as seen on YouTube?
The kit we offer for the US market is the Subaru WRX 4 door inner skin kit.
We have no affiliation with the videos that are produced by third party users. To receive the most updated and accurate list of products we offer, please only refer to SoundSkins' website and social media channels instead of outside sources.
