Best Car Audio Gifts for Truck and Jeep Owners This Holiday Season

Truck and Jeep owners are some of the hardest people to buy for. They already have the tools, the floor mats, and the keychain with the logo on it. What they almost never buy for themselves is the upgrade they keep talking about: a quieter cab, cleaner sound, and bass that does not disappear the moment they hit the highway.

That is exactly where a car audio gift wins. It is something they will notice every single time they drive, long after the holidays are over.

Why Car Audio Makes the Best Gift for Truck and Jeep Owners

Trucks and Jeeps are loud by design. Big tires, upright windshields, removable tops, and thin door panels let in road noise, wind roar, and rattles that the factory system cannot overcome. Most owners turn the volume up to compensate, which only adds distortion.

A good car audio gift fixes the cause, not the symptom. It also has a few advantages over typical gifts:

  • It gets used daily. Every commute, road trip, and trail run.
  • It is personal to their vehicle. Many options are made for the exact truck or Jeep they drive.
  • It adds real value. A quieter, better sounding cab makes the vehicle more enjoyable to own.
  • It is something they want but rarely buy. Most owners put sound upgrades off for years.

How to Choose the Right Car Audio Gift

You do not need to be a car audio expert. Answer three quick questions first.

  1. What do they drive? Year, make, model, and cab type. Check the registration or a photo of the truck if you are not sure.
  2. What bothers them most? Road noise, door rattles, weak bass, or muddy speakers.
  3. Do they do their own installs? DIY owners love kits. Others may prefer to take the gift to a local shop.

Once you know those answers, the right gift becomes obvious.

Car Audio Gifts Under $100

Great stocking stuffers and secret Santa picks that still make a noticeable difference.

SoundSkins Rings V3 Speaker Kit, $59

The Rings V3 Sound Deadening Speaker Kit includes four 1" high rebound foam rings that seal the speaker to the door panel. That seal stops sound from leaking inside the door, which tightens mid-bass and clears up vocals. It is one of the cheapest upgrades in car audio that you can actually hear.

Best for: Anyone who has recently upgraded speakers or wants their factory speakers to sound fuller.

Sound Quality Speaker Kit 4 Door Bundle, $94.40

The Sound Quality Speaker Kit 4 Door Bundle treats all four speakers with foam rings, foam backing sheets, and deadening sheets behind each speaker. It reduces vibration right where the speaker mounts, which is where most door buzz starts.

Best for: Crew cab trucks and four door Jeeps that need every speaker treated in one gift.

Car Audio Gifts From $100 to $250

The sweet spot for most holiday budgets, with upgrades that change how the whole cab feels.

SoundSkins Pro Two Door Kit, $124

The SoundSkins Pro Two Door Sound Deadening Kit gives 11 sq ft of 3-layer material to treat both front doors. Front doors are the most important area for sound quality because that is where the main speakers live.

Best for: Regular cab trucks, two door Jeeps, or a first step for any truck owner.

SoundSkins Pro Starter Bundle, $200.95

The SoundSkins Pro Starter Bundle is the easiest gift for someone new to sound deadening. It packages what they need to start treating their vehicle in one box, so there is no guessing about tools or quantities.

Best for: First time DIY owners who want an all-in-one starting point.

SoundSkins Pro Four Door Kit, $229

The SoundSkins Pro Four Door Sound Deadening Kit includes 22 sq ft of 3-layer material, enough to treat all four doors. This is the most popular sound deadening kit gift for crew cab trucks and four door Jeeps because doors are where road noise and rattles are most noticeable.

Best for: Crew cab F-150, Silverado, Ram, Tacoma, Tundra, and four door Wrangler or Gladiator owners.

Pro Tip: If you cannot decide between kits, buy for the doors first. Doors control speaker performance and are the largest source of road noise in most trucks and Jeeps, so a door kit gives the biggest improvement for the money.

Vehicle Specific Sound Deadening Kit Gifts

Pre-cut kits are the premium version of a sound deadening gift. Every piece is shaped to the exact panel, so there is no measuring, no wasted material, and a much faster install. They feel like a gift that was chosen for their truck, because they were.

Jeep Gladiator 4-Door Kit, $319

The SoundSkins Jeep Gladiator 4-Door Vehicle Specific Kit covers all four Gladiator doors with 21.5 sq ft of pre-cut material. Gladiator doors are thin and flat, so treating them noticeably reduces highway noise and door rattle.

2023+ Ford Super Duty 4-Door Kit, $379

The 2023+ Ford Super Duty 4-Door Sound Deadening Vehicle Specific Kit includes 30 sq ft of 3-layer material made for the newest F-250 and F-350. Large Super Duty doors benefit a lot from deadening, especially on diesel trucks.

Kits are also available for other popular trucks and Jeeps. Browse vehicle specific kits for trucks and kits for Jeeps and SUVs to find the exact match.

Jeep owners have a unique challenge because doors and hardtops behave differently. This guide on why Jeep doors and hardtops need different noise control plans helps you pick the right kit for a Wrangler or Gladiator.

Subwoofer Enclosure Gifts for Bass Lovers

For the owner who always says the truck needs more bass, a vehicle specific sub box is a showstopper gift. These boxes are made in the USA from full 3/4" MDF with a durable bed liner spray finish, and they fit under or behind the seat without losing passenger space.

Jeep Gladiator Dual 10" Sealed Box, $329

The Jeep Gladiator 2018+ Dual 10" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure is only 5" tall and fits under the rear seat. It delivers tight, clean bass that holds up even with the top off.

Ford Super Duty 2017+ Dual 12" Box, $399

The Ford F-250 / F-350 / F-450 Super Duty 2017+ Dual 12" Enclosure fits under the rear seat of crew cab Super Duty trucks and is one of the most popular bass upgrades for these trucks.

Enclosures are also available for Ford, GMC and Chevrolet, Dodge Ram, Toyota, and Jeep.

Important Note: A sub box is a great gift, but it needs subwoofers and an amplifier to work. If the person does not already own them, either pair the box with a gift card or note from a local installer, or choose a sound deadening kit instead, which is ready to install straight out of the box.

The Big Gift for Serious Car Audio Fans

SoundSkins Pro Plus Workshop Kit, $494

How to Get the Best Black Friday Car Audio Deals

Black Friday is the best time of year to buy car audio gifts, but the smart move is to plan before the rush.

  • Make your list now. Know the exact year, make, model, and cab before deals start so you can buy quickly.
  • Check vehicle specific fitment early. Popular pre-cut kits and enclosures can sell through during the holiday rush.
  • Look at Open Box Deals. The Open Box Deals collection is worth checking year round for savings on materials and vehicle specific kits.
  • Bundle when it makes sense. A door kit plus a speaker kit covers both noise and sound quality in one order.
  • Order early for holiday delivery. Shipping is free on all orders to the continental U.S., but carriers slow down in December, so do not wait until the last week.

Help Them Get the Most From Their Gift

A short note with the gift goes a long way. Suggest they record cabin noise on a phone app before and after installing. It makes the improvement easy to see and turns the install into a fun project. This guide shows how to measure cabin noise before and after sound deadening.

Pro Tip: Pair a sound deadening kit with a speaker ring kit. Deadening stops door panel vibration, and the rings seal the speaker to the panel. Together they deliver a bigger improvement than either one alone, without needing new speakers.

Frequently Asked Questions

A four door sound deadening kit is one of the best all-around gifts. It reduces road noise, stops door rattles, and makes the existing speakers sound clearer.

What do you buy a Jeep owner who has everything?
A vehicle specific sound deadening kit or a speaker enhancement kit. Most Jeep owners deal with wind and road noise daily but rarely buy deadening for themselves.

Is a sound deadening kit a good gift?
Yes. It is useful, noticeable every time they drive, and easy to install for DIY owners. Pre-cut vehicle specific kits make the install even simpler.

What is the best car audio gift under $100?
The Rings V3 Speaker Kit at $59 or the Sound Quality Speaker Kit 4 Door Bundle at $94.40. Both improve sound quality without requiring new speakers.

Step 1

To install the material you need be working on the metal surface of the car, remove upholstery. If you have never done this, we suggest searching it up on YouTube. Once the upholstery is removed, make sure there is no debris, waxy oils or rust by cleaning the surface with denatured alcohol.

Step 2

Once surface is clean and ready to go, cut the sound deadening material to the right size so it fits desired area. For small surfaces, we recommend that you measure the dimensions and then cut to fit.

Step 3

With the surface area clean and pieces cut to desired dimensions, peel off the paper and apply material to surface area starting from the top to bottom using the car door holes to help with alignment. We recommend using a hand roller to ensure that there are no air pockets and ensure the adhesiveness.

Sound Deadener Install FAQ: Tips & Tricks

What tools will I need to for a sound deadening project?
  • Rag & Denatured Alcohol: Apply the alcohol to the rag and use to clean the metal surface areas you will be applying the material to.
  • Gloves: Our product is pretty safe to install without gloves but if you have never installed a sound deadener mat, we recommend using gloves.
  • Hand roller: We highly recommend using a small roller to reach the tighter surface areas of your vehicle. You can find these on Amazon or most online retail shops. There are wooden, rubber and metal rollers, we recommend wooden or rubber, try and stay away from metal as they can tear the material.
  • Utility Knife: The utility blade is to cut the material. Make sure to cut the material on top of a pice of cardboard so that your blade stays sharper longer, if it's a big job, have some extra blades around.
How do you apply sound deadener material?

We sell our roll on sound deadener product in 2 different formats: custom cut to fit pro kits and an easy to work with rolled up large sheet. If you can measure, cut, peel and stick you can install sound deadener! You can use your hand to apply pressure when positioning the material and then use a roller to make sure it sticks down to metal surface.

After you cut the material and are ready to stick it on, some customers find it easier to peel off a small portion of the release liner and then apply it to metal surface, and then work their way across the sheet, peeling off a small section at a time.

Make sure to always remove the air bubbles with the roller. The second most important thing when it comes to quality of sound deadener is the quality of adhesion to the surface area. You want the material to be stuck down properly to ensure it stays in place.

Where do you apply the sound deadening material?

The great thing about our sound deadening material is that it can be applied to all types of metal surfaces. All SoundSkins sheets use extremely strong adhesive and they can even be mounted on fiberglass, plastic and even wooden surfaces, but it's not very common to apply to these surfaces since they don't vibrate as much. By covering all metal surfaces such as your doors, roof, trunk and floor you can make a significant difference to unwanted road noise.

Your top priority when applying a car sound deadener is to cover the doors, floor and trunk. If you have extra material then proceed to other metal surfaces you wish to cover for extra sound insulation.

How much surface area should I cover?

To properly deaden the metal surfaces, we recommend to at least do 25% coverage with our SoundSkins material, this will make a difference in unwanted road noise, but to have a huge impact we recommend covering up 60% of metal surfaces. If you want to get the most used from your sheet, one effective strategy is the CHECKER BOARD APPROACH, using this technique you cut the SoundSkins sheet into small pieces and apply them to the metal surface in a checkered pattern.

It is very common for our customers to do close to 100& coverage to any metal surface because not only are they looking to reduce road noise, they also want to insulate their car from heat or they like the way the material looks on the car's bare metal surface.

How do I make sure the sound deadener sticks well?

SoundSkins products are made with a very strong adhesive and create a extremely strong bond with the metal, it's really hard to NOT make it stick. To ensure the best possible bond, we highly recommend cleaning the metal surface before applying our material and then using a hand roller to firmly attach the SoundSkins deadening mats.

Great adhesion with no air bubbles is the absolute key if you want to get the best performance. Remember that any air pocket with poor adhesion means you will not get the full benefit of the deadener.

How to install car sound deadener: Recap
  1. Remove upholstery and carpet from your vehicle. Proceed to vacuum to get rid of debris and dirt. Clean all greasy spots with denatured alcohol, other solvents or degreasers will leave behind a film that prevents a solid contact surface. Allow metal surface to try.
  2. Cut the SoundSkins sheet to desired size and cut using a sharp utility knife. Use gloves to avoid any cuts.
  3. Peel off the wax paper from the back of material and apply to surface, this can be done by small sections at a time. Use roller to create a strong bond between material and metal surface and to get rid of any air bubbles.
